"Courage and change"

Learning to sit within uncertainty, in quiet acceptance that change is often the only way forward, takes courage. I am all too aware of that feeling when trusting the process of life is suddenly not enough, and a step, no matter how challenging, is required to move forward in a direction of greater contribution.

The mind often brings up reasons why things should remain the same. There is the human habit of doubt: “What if things don’t work?” or “What will people think?” It is in those moments of hesitation that courage is required. Sometimes that step is simply picking up the phone to call someone. Sometimes it is a movement away from, or towards, something or someone. And sometimes it is the quiet acceptance of giving in, letting go, or allowing life to unfold in a new way.

Making a commitment to oneself to act in alignment with the highest good is true courage.

Meditation becomes a steady anchor in this process. It helps us catch those stories of doubt that rise from the mind, and teaches us to remain present rather than seek escape. As the mind quiets, we can enter into dialogue with our inner being, allowing fear to transform into faith.

It is not necessary to see the entire path. What matters is taking the next step, however challenging, if it supports the body and its life on earth in moving towards greater alignment and evolution.

Do you need to make a courageous choice to bring about change in your own life?
