"Mindful choices"

Oftentimes, it feels as though the days are passing so quickly, yet little has been accomplished. Many people have adapted to sleep deprivation, phone addiction, meals on the go, and quick-fix solutions as though these are the normal requirements of a fast-paced life. Constant notifications can pull the mind's attention outward, just as much as our day-to-day activities do, while the nervous system is left to balance external stimulation with internal functioning. Any imbalance within the autonomic nervous system can contribute to mental, emotional, or physiological stress. Fortunately, we have opportunities to restore equilibrium through the conscious regulation of what we allow into our lives.

You are the CEO of your own life. Health does not only come from a healthy diet. It also arises from peace of mind, a forgiving and compassionate heart, and a life filled with love and laughter. The way forward, therefore, is through self-directed attention rather than self-distraction. No matter what stands before you today, every decision you have made, whether perceived as right, wrong, or a "mistake", has contributed to your journey. Often, these experiences are simply the lessons needed for further growth, while the blessings you have attracted have brought you to this point in time.

Since the only reality exists in the present moment, and both the past and future are perspectives experienced now, mindful choices that serve your soul will also serve your body. Choosing to walk away from something, embrace a new idea, or even allow yourself a pause can feel daunting. Yet if the choice feels lighter or brings a sense of peace, it may be necessary to take those steps.

Everything is energy. Excitement and anxiety are both energetic states that the body uses to signal us toward action, helping restore a more harmonious and balanced state of being. Meditation is a practice that can bring greater alignment to the mind, body, and spirit, allowing us to return more quickly to our natural state of balance.
